April marks Autism Awareness Month.  The HRSB Autism Team invites you to participate in
Shine Blue - World Autism Awareness Day on Monday, April 4th.  The actual day is April 2nd, however,
since this is on the weekend, we are suggesting that schools celebrate it on the following Monday.
SHES encourages all students to wear blue on April 4th. See this link for more information about

Welcome to Owen, Eva, Gabe, Magalie, Kwan, Aisha, Fatina and Aryan.
The school is proud to welcome 8 new dolls to our Library.
They are to be our Library Students.  Each is a Canadian student with
his or her own story to share.  They will help us learn about family, culture,
heritage and health in our community.  They will also help us learn the
history of our province and how we have become the multicultural community
of today.  Our new Library Students will visit the classrooms regularly in
addition to participating in library.

Please speak with your children about what to do when the bus does not
arrive at the bus stop in the morning. Most often we advise students to wait
for a back-up bus. As the weather turns colder, it becomes more important that
students are not left for long periods at bus stops. Please ensure your
family has made a plan for unforeseen circumstances which may arise
throughout the winter season. If at all possible, do not leave students at the
bus stop without either being sure the bus is arriving or without having a
plan in place in the event the bus does not arrive.
